What To Wear In Paris, France In Summer, Fall, Winter, & Spring

What to wear in Paris, France is often a question that I always get from my readers, friends and family prior to embarking in their journey.  It’s impossible to avoid asking about what clothes to wear even myself as we want to make sure that we are wearing the appropriate clothes and not be targeted by pickpockets.  Also, Paris is well known as one of the fashion capital cities in Europe followed by Milan, Italy. Therefore, if you plan to spend your holiday in Paris I highly recommend that you pack and wear some stylish yet comfortable outfits.  FTA offer guide and tips on choosing your Parisian outfits. This includes blouses or tops, skirts, pants, dresses and shoes.

Summer Parisian Outfits

What-to-wear-in-Paris

1. Blouses or Tops

Parisian style are quite chic and sophisticated. They normally wear neutral colors such as beige, cream, white and sometimes black. Occasionally you’d see them wear some colorful outfits but very seldom. Here are some beautiful blouses and tops that you might like to pack and wear while in Paris for summer.  Blouse 1, Blouse 2, Blouse 3, Blouse 4, Blouse 5, Blouse 6 and Blouse 7  are different style of blouses that you see on the photo above.   Click each link to find out more information and the best prices.  These are beautiful sleeveless blouses/tops made of  soft cotton, chiffon, lace and rayon fabrics.  These sleeveless are definitely perfect to wear while on a holiday in Paris as it’s absolutely light, easy to fold and pack, fashionable and most of all they are breathable.

2. Pants / Jeans

Jeans

Jeans have become quite a common fashion wear in Paris even in summer as they perfectly match with everything. Skinny jeans and straight cut jeans are one of the most fashionable jeans you could wear in Paris for summer as no doubt you would still look chic and stylish while sightseeing in the most romantic city in the world. Bring 1 or 2 pairs of jeans that are stretchable and soft as you’d be able to easily wear them on a hot sunny weather. You could also wear jeans if the weather is slightly cold or if it rains. Most of the time Paris weather is generally hot but at night time it can get a bit chilly. Jeans 1 and Jeans 2 are gorgeous, chic and fashionable jeans that will be perfect to go with your blouses and shoes while touring around Paris.

Light fabric long pants

Light material long pants are quite a common style amongst Parisians in summer time too. This is because summer in Paris can get too hot and humid therefore wearing neutral or black light fabric pants are perfect and suitable for Parisians summer weather.  Not only it’s perfect for Paris weather it’s also very light and easy to pack as it does not take up much space and weight.  Therefore, I highly suggest you to take at least 2 different kinds of light fabric pants as you can easily match them with different blouses and blazers.  Click Pants 1 for more information.

3. Skirts

Blouses can be paired with skirts. Again, neutral and black colour skirts are perfect for summer in Paris.  They are mostly wearable and common outfits among Parisians. I highly recommend wearing a knee length skirt, just below or above the knee as they seem to be more sophisticated and stylish but yet comfortable for walking.  Skirts can also be perfectly paired with fashionable shoes or sandals for walking. Skirt 1 Skirt 2 Skirt 3 are all kinds of skirts that are suitable for your size and height. These are perfect for traveling and sightseeing in Paris in the summer time.

4.  Dresses

Wearing a summer dress in Paris is very feminine and chic in style especially if you choose the ones that are quite elegant and sophisticated. I find that French women and girls love to wear fashionable dresses in most days. Whether they are walking on cobblestone streets, having coffees at a cafe or eating at a restaurant, they all seem to look beautiful and stylish but yet very comfortable in their dress effortlessly. And even most of the time they manage to wear high heels with their dress while walking on cobblestone streets. However, if you are a tourist in Paris but you would like to wear a fashionable dress you could match it with any comfortable stylish flat shoes so it’s not a burden and preventing you from walking the whole day.  Dress 1 Dress 2 Dress 3 Dress 4 Dress 5 Dress 6  are a variety of dresses you could pack and wear in Paris.   These dresses are what you see on the photo above.

5. Shoes

Wearing the right shoes, fashionable but yet comfortable and perfect for walking is vital for a perfect holiday in Paris in every season. I highly recommend wearing flat slip on shoes, flat ballet shoes, and flat sandals when you are going to be doing a lot of walking and sightseeing. Avoid wearing running shoes if you want to blend in with Parisians in Paris and not be targeted by pickpocketers.  I also recommend to bring one pair of high heel shoes as you may need it for a night out to go with your beautiful dress.  Here are some of the perfect shoes you might like to take it with you to Paris on a holiday.  Click Shoes 1, Shoes 2, Shoes 3, Shoes 4, Shoes 5, Shoes 6, Shoes 7 and Shoes 8 for more information about each shoes.

This first set of spring outfits to wear in Paris is a combination of a beautiful floral thin long sleeve top to go with a white pants.  Spring in Paris is so beautiful as different types of flowers and leaves in the gardens and parks start to bloom and many Parisians typically start to wear their Spring wardrobe.  Based on my observations they love wearing some floral tops or blazers to go with a natural light coloured pants and shoes.   I also added a Khaki Blazer with a color block of black to go with your hat that’s made of a wool.  The reason why I added a nice hat and a blazer is that in Paris it still can get a little chilly anytime of the day during Spring especially in the early mornings and night time.  So when you decide to go for a walk in the late evening you definitely need to wear a hat and a blazer to keep you warm in Spring.  Fortunately, towards the end of Spring season in Paris it starts to get warmer due to the temperatures and weather are transitioning to summer season.  If you’re feeling a bit too hot you don’t necessarily need to wear a hat and a blazer but I highly suggest that you carry them when you go out.

I also added a Parisian chic ballet flats, as it’s simple and comfortable that you could easily wear and match with the illustrated outfits and even with your existing outfits.  Spice up your chic footwear with this attractive and classy Clarks Ballet Flats.  This Parisian ballet flat features leather upper features leather upper, rubber outsole and an ortholite insole ensuring extreme traction, long lasting comfort and durability.  Whilst at the same time the slip-on and off elastic closure ensures easy take off and on with extra security.  With the featuring ortholite insole offers significant cushioning support on every step you make and in addition it prevents bad odor as it has a moister management in order to keep your foot cool and dry.  In addition to your Parisian chic style, I also added a crossbody satchel bag by Rebecca Minkoff, which compliment the entire outfits.  This bag is made of leather with cotton lining and featuring flat closure, metallic hardware top handle, contrast patterned lining and a removable crossbody strap.  It’s lightweight, super chic and of great quality ensuring to last long.  This is definitely a perfect crossbody satchel bag to carry it around Paris on your vacation or if you happen to live there.  The colour and style are so versatile that allows you to mix and match with any outfits.  Also, you can easily store small items, make up, cardigans and even your macbook air or pro.

  • I love your tips about how to dress like a Parisienne. I always struggle to wear neutral and simple colours yet chic and stylish as I’m into lots of colours when it comes to my style but your tips is helping me a lot on how to choose the right outfits to wear in Paris. I can’t wait to see more updates for winter and spring Parisian wear.

  • It is true that we now all wear jeans 🙂
I read your article and for the shoes, I would add the sneakers that are very fashionable right now but more comfy than ballets or flat sandals for all day walking. Like the Adidas Stan Smith for instance.
